Zoey Ruth Feuerstein

is becoming a Bat Mitzvah

Becoming a Bat Mitzvah marks the beginning of a young woman’s transition from childhood to adulthood. As Jewish children reach the age, they are considered adults within the Jewish community. At the service, Zoey will, for the first time help lead the prayers and read directly from the Torah. As Zoey participates in the service, the community acknowledges her adult status and along with that, her increased responsibility toward the community and the world. As the blessings and prayers are recited, Zoey reaffirms her commitment to fulfill the mitzvot.

Dear Friends and Family:

I have always loved cooking food for the people I love. For the last many years, my family has provided meals at Jewish Family Services Safe Lots throughout San Diego. The Safe Lots provide a safe place for people to sleep who don’t have a home but they have a car. By parking their car in the safe lots, they are provided a safe place to sleep and often have meals provided for them. For my Bat Mitzvah Project, I will be preparing and serving food monthly at the Safe Lots. I hope you will join me in this amazing cause by helping me cook, providing a meal or serving food with me on one of the various dates. CLICK HERE if you’d like to participate with me.

Love, Zoey
